Things To Do

My first time hiking on the Avalanche Lake trail at Glacier National Park and the end was what I hoped for. One of the most beautiful sights that I feasted my eyes upon. And yes, that’s me below.

I like how at the end of the trail there is a sign that says “This is the end of the trail.” We continued further along and set up a hammock opposite o the beach most people stopat and just chilled for hours.

I need to get back up there. The last time I was there we had to evacuate the area because a couple bears were coming around the lake.

We were just there a couple of weeks ago. We hike that one often because its one my little girl can do without me having to carry her out.

About three quarters of the way into the trail did you notice all the downed trees that were laying the same direction? That was from an avalanche this past spring. What was so remarkable about it was they were laying UPHILL….because the avalanche was on an adjacent mountain. The wind push from the avalanche came from the valley and then up the mountain like a microburst downing trees across Avalanche Trail.
